About Us
The Center for Family Evaluation and Treatment (CFET), centrally located in Taylorsville at I-215 & Redwood Rd. provides counseling for a growing population residing in Salt Lake County, Utah. We are dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
In difficult times a professional counselor or psychologist can give the necessary advice and perspective to provide relief from job stress, relationship difficulties, and even serious mental health problems. Our counselors are trained to listen well, provide sound advice, and recommend the best treatment or course of action to help patients get through traumatic events and rough patches in life.
We have 7 therapists including psychologists and counselors. We provide individual psychotherapy, group counseling, psycho-education and counseling in Taylorsville, UT for clients of all ages.
Our emphasis is on short-term treatment to help individuals and families to manage their problems and live in the community. This includes individual therapy/counseling, family therapy/counseling, group therapy, assessment, and crisis intervention.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a form of therapy in which the client is treated one-on-one with a therapist. Together, the client and counselor explore and identify goals for treatment. Working individually with a therapist can help you feel comfortable enough to talk openly about things in your life that are distressing or are interfering with your everyday activities.
Couples/Family Counseling
All too often, our challenges are not resticted to just ourselves. We have spouses, children, or other family members who we are struggling to communicate with. Family and couples counseling allows multiple parties to speak together with a licensed professional to identify common areas of conflict and pain and then move forward to a healthy relationship where all parties feel more success in working together.
Evalutations/Testing
There are times when identifying the problem is the biggest challenge of all. We offer psychological testing and assessment to better identify areas of concern for a more targeted approach to increase positive outcomes. Examples include ADHD, Neuropsychological (Autism/Aspergers, Developmental Disorders, Dementia, Alzheimer's), Learning Disability, Disability, Parenting, and Substance Abuse. Court Ordered
Assessment forensic services are for adults referred from the criminal courts, State Parole and Probation, Federal Parole and Probation, Criminal Justice Services and other correction agencies. We treat adult perpetrators in domestic violence cases and adult/ juvenile offenders with criminal charges related to sexual behaviors requiring a psychosexual assessment and treatment. We also offer fingerprinting services.
